Be a Week Zero Hero - Tips and Tricks for Starting the School Year Off Right

Week Zero is typically the first week of school. In this session, Participants will learn tips and tricks on how to start the school year off right. There will be a focus on classroom management, incentives, start of school activities and organization. Participants will walk away with a ton of resources and ideas on classroom setup and starting off the school year on the right foot. The session is open to all teachers but new teachers would definitely benefit as well. This session gives teachers the tools that they need to feel organized and prepared. Classroom management has become more challenging for a lot of teachers to deal with primarily after the pandemic. This session helps navigate the skills necessary to start the school year off strong.
A New Teacher’s Guide to Starting the School Year Off Right

In this session, geared towards new teachers, participants will get ideas about how to integrate technology into their classrooms at the beginning of the school year. This session is focused on classroom management ideas as well. Teachers will understand the 10 Blake Basics needed to effectively start the school year off on the right foot. New Teachers and veteran teachers alike will learn tips and tricks on how to start out the school year not only Tech Strong but filled with Tech Joy.
Bringing the Joy Factor to the Elementary Math Classroom

In this session, Elementary Math Teachers will learn how to build community, fun and laughter within their classrooms. There will be a focus around using technology to create joy and encourage engagement within a math classroom. This session is centered around the Joy Factor technique from the book, Teach Like a Champion by Doug Lemov. This session focuses on teaching educators how to bring back the fun and excitement of school not only for themselves but also for their students. This session encourages building a classroom where students feel safe and move past surviving into thriving.
42 Fs - Motivating the Remote Student

In this session, participants learn about techniques that worked effectively in my own digital classroom. I start off by explaining how at one point I had 42 Fs in my 5th grade math classroom during the pandemic and throughout this presentation participants will learn what changes I had to make and what strategies I took to turn things around. Teachers will walk away with tons of resources that they can use in a virtual classroom setting.
